Europe's economic growth and regulatory environment have a direct impact on the Industry ability to create and maintain jobs while ensuring access to training for all. Indeed, among the European Textile and Clothing industry competitive assets, the skills & know-how of its workforce is one of the key areas to be supported, both at regional, national and European level.
EURATEX, both throughout its sectorial social dialogue with the trade unions and in its employers’ strategy, ensures a follow-up and promotes co-ordinated actions to safeguard industry political and economic interests. Moreover, for EURATEX, the promotion and respect of fundamental labour standards and the social dimension of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) are important elements to be followed and encouraged through voluntary initiatives both at EU and international level.
EURATEX aims to support industry’s efforts in the field of social and Education & Training through a proactive work with EU institutions and policy makers to:
- Maintain and strengthen the scope of the current EU Social dialogue in the Textile and Clothing Industry while encouraging the same regarding national sectorial social dialogues
- Provide funding and other support mechanisms for developing Education and Training tools including for industrial research and innovation activities in Europe
Create framework conditions conducive for Education and Training and CSR activities in Europe, throughout the creation of networking (i.e. EU TCL Skills Council)
