INSPIRATION FROM AN ONLINE ARCHIVE: How to use amazing new online resources for design
As part of the Erasmus+ project ART-CHERIE, London College of Fashion has developed two online course units to help designers explore and use digital archives effectively and creatively in their design process. Both units illustrate how to access digitized collections for inspiration, and gaining skills for technical know-how and historical information.
On 13th December in London, UAL - London College of Fashion will launch and demonstrate these new online tools to designers. This exciting afternoon will include lectures on the future of fashion archives and showcase The Underpinnings Museum as an example of a digital-only museum, as well as a presentation of the project and a pilot testing of the online units; one focusing on Womenswear and one on Embroidery.
