eBIZ 4.0 project and RegioTex at “Digitisation in Fashion” matchmaking event

On 9 June, a conference on “Digitisation in fashion” was organised by the EU Watify campaign, in Bologna (Italy). The participants had also the occasion to attend to the first European match-making event between companies and research projects on innovative digital soultions for the fashion sector promoted by the European RegioTex initiative.

General Assembly on Circular Economy in textile & apparel manufacturing

On Thursday 8 June 2017, about 100 delegates attended the EURATEX General Assembly conference on Circular Economy in textile & apparel manufacturing. Four committed companies and Mr Grzegorz Radziejewski from the cabinet of the Commission Vice President Katainen discussed the opportunities, but also the challenges for the sector. Drawing the conclusions, EURATEX called for collaboration to prosper and showcase art in the Circular Economy.

EURATEX RELEASED THE BULLETIN NO. 01/2017

The report analyses the 2016 EU external trade for the textile and clothing sector as well as the main EU suppliers and customers, evaluates the weight of regions and sectors in total EU trade and includes detailed tables and graphs for the 33 main EU trade partners.

eBIZ 4.0 at IT4Fashion

Fashion and digital are two words that usually attract different types of professionals but that combine very much; the IT4Fashion event has understood that equation and is boosting this new trend.

 

Last 19-20 April, the seventh edition took place in Florence. IT4Fashion is an industrial and scientific conference and exhibition where fashion companies, brands, practitioners, researchers, educationalists and software houses come together to discuss digital technology in our industry. Event report - Annual ETP Conference 2017

More than 170 members of the European Textile Technology Platform and other stakeholders gathered on 30-31 March in Brussels at the 12th Textile ETP Annual Conference for an overview on on-going European collaborative research in textile and clothing and to discuss with EU policy makers the needs and opportunities for future EU support.

From industrial production to provider of textile solutions

The textiles industry is still in the midst of a period of major transition. Swiss Textiles, the textiles and clothing industry federation, presented the 2016 figures for the industry at its annual press conference in St. Gallen. The decline in industrial production is to a certain extent attributable to the fact that the sector has become internationalised and specialised, and is now increasingly providing textile solutions for new areas of application.
