Digital integration, energy and resource efficiency in the textile and clothing industry in the Euro-Mediterranean area

On 27-28 April 2015 in Krakow (Poland), the European Commission in cooperation with the Małopolska Krakow Region organises a Conference on Digital Communication, Energy and Resource Efficiency in Textile and Clothing Industry in the Euro-Mediterranean Area. The event is organised every year in the framework of the Euro-Mediterranean Dialogue in textile and clothing industry to exchange successful business practices, programmes and policies which this year will focus on digital integration, energy efficiency and sustainability of textile materials. The ultimate goal is to boost cooperation and competitiveness of the sector companies sector in the Euro-Mediterranean Area.


Euratex is proud to be present at this high level international event that will start with opening keynote speech delivered by Elżbieta Bieńkowska, the EU Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs. Euratex Director General Francesco Marchi will chair the panel devoted to smart materials and technologies.


A few outstanding Euratex-led initiatives will be presented at the conference, namely eBIZ and Energy Made-to-Measure campaign. The eBIZ panel will touch upon the integration of the supply chain in Europe and Med-area, benefits for the companies, costs reduction, efficiency, training and funding for newcomers. Benefits from energy efficiency, particularly for textile and clothing companies and the outlook to future developments will be presented at the event’s Energy Made-to-Measure panel.
