Commissioner Bieńkowska Heads the First Forum on Fashion & High-End Industries
Participating in the high-level Forum on the fashion and high-end industries led by the Commissioner Bieńkowska, EURATEX underlined the importance of support to SMEs’ internationalisation and access to innovation funding.
In December 2013, an Action Plan for fashion and high-end industries was adopted to set out concrete actions to strengthen the competiveness of the European fashion and high-end industries. The Action Plan also established a multi-stakeholder Forum aimed at monitoring the implementation of Plan’s actions and outlining the future developments.

AT FRANKFURT FAIR ON SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION
On 4-7 May 2015, EURATEX joined the Techtextil/ Texprocess fair in Frankfurt to present its major initiatives, meet companies and learn about the latest developments. DEVELOPMENTS IN THE TECHNICAL TEXTILES MARKET
On April 29, at the press conference hosted by Techtextil and Texprocess, Euratex President Serge Piolat presented an overview of the latest developments in the European textile and clothing sector with a special focus on technical textiles.

European Textile Technology Platform Celebrates 10 years at its Annual Public Conference in Brussels
Brussels, 30 March 2015 - On 25-26 March 2015 the 10th annual public conference of the European Technology Platform for the Future of Textiles and Clothing (Textile ETP) took place in Brussels. Over 150 participants from 20 countries witnessed a very broad overview of key textile technologies which moved from research labs into industrial practice over the last 10 years or which are expected to do so over the next 10 years. NEW JOINT STEPS FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN THE EUROPEAN TEXTILE INDUSTRY
Euratex-led Energy Made-to-Measure campaign - the initiative for energy efficiency in the European textile and clothing industry - will intensify as of 2015 thanks to new collaboration with both the VDMA’s Blue Competence initiative and the Sustainable Technologies project of ACIMIT. Two separate Memorandums of Understanding have just been signed for these actions to join efforts with the campaign for the benefit of the European companies. Press Release

NEW EURATEX PRESIDENT SERGE PIOLAT PRESENTS HIS AMBITIOUS PROGRAMME
EURATEX welcomes Mr. Serge Piolat as its President taking the office in January 2015 for a two year term. Mr. Piolat worked out an ambitious programme to be accomplished during his presidency. As an experienced entrepreneur, he believes that European trade associations should always work hand in hand with industry.
