Participants: 16

Project: SESEC

Memorable quote: “meeting was truly helpful, because energy efficiency (from) energy saving is the path for the future”

Another event of the Energy Made-to-Measure campaign was held on 8 May 2014 in Fasano, Italy. The initiative launched by EURATEX was promoted by Apulia Fashion Makers in cooperation with ENEA.

The meeting started with the discussion of initiatives for energy efficiency and supply chains integration in textile and clothing industry. The agenda featured a presentation on another textile-strategic initiative, namely eBIZ which pursue the use and greater interoperability of digital communication across the Fashion supply-chain. Considerable attention was paid to the overview of the results of energy audits campaign (SESEC project) and new scenarios and decision support tools for company operations (ARTISAN project).

Demonstration of free self-assessment software tools for textile and clothing took place during the second part of the event. The most interested topics were cogeneration (how to improve efficiency of machineries while generating electric power and using heat) and methods to calculate return on investments, the latter of great relevance especially for SMEs.
