EURATEX supports simplifying the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and reducing the compliance burden of the due diligence legislations —particularly for SMEs in the textile and apparel sector.
As part of the EFRAG consultation, EURATEX has submitted targeted technical proposals to make the framework more practical, proportionate and effective. Key recommendations include:
- Simplified, modular templates tailored to SMEs
- Phased disclosure obligations for complex supply chains
- Clearer guidance on materiality and reporting priorities
- Better alignment across EU regulations and with international standards
