Europe disposes of a world-leading diversified textile research and higher education infrastructure, which EURATEX seeks to nurture and valorise through intensified collaboration at European level and a better alignment with industry need and priorities.
For this purpose, the European Technology Platform for the Future of Textiles and Clothing, whose secretariat is assumed by EURATEX, was created in 2004. With well over 200 member organisations and more than 500 registered individual experts, it is the largest European textile research and innovation expert network.
The key objectives of the platform are
– Network and organize collaborative projects between industry, research organisations, public authorities, financial institutions and other stakeholders across Europe;
– Developing and regularly updating a European Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for the textile and clothing sector;
– Improving the overall research, development, innovation and higher education framework conditions of this industrial sector in Europe
