2nd In-Person Textile PRO Forum Charts Next Steps for Circularity in Europe
Brussels, 25 June 2025 – The Textile Producer Responsibility Organisations (PRO) Forum convened for its second in-person meeting this week, bringing together over 30 delegates from 21 organisations across Europe to advance the harmonisation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in the textile sector.
Organised by EURATEX, the meeting continued the momentum from its 2023 launch by fostering practical collaboration among national PROs, textile associations, and EU-level stakeholders.
The two intensive days featured deep-dive sessions on Eco-Modulation Fee Reporting and Supporting Recycling Practices; policy update on the Waste Framework Directive, progress reports from five active workstreams.
Participants shared national updates, highlighting both operational successes and ongoing challenges in implementing textile EPR. Workstream leads presented tangible advances in reducing administrative burdens, defining a shared framework, and scaling PRO coverage across Europe.
The Forum reaffirmed its feature as a unique platform, timely set up, to coordinate EPR implementation across Europe while supporting innovation towards the EU’s circular economy goals and strengthening the textile sector.
