The upcoming Digital Product Passport (DPP), under the EU Ecodesign Regulation, will require textile and apparel companies to collect and share detailed data on a product’s environmental performance across its lifecycle—from raw material to end of life.
This process poses significant challenges due to the complexity and scale of supply chains. To address this, EURATEX is calling on the European Commission and stakeholders to develop harmonised standards for data collection and exchange across the textile value chain.
Our two main priorities are:
- Defining what information must be collected – through a shared semantic framework and data models tailored to the textile sector.
- Defining how that information is exchanged – via secure, interoperable protocols.
By standardising content and methods, we can ensure companies—large and small—can provide the necessary data once and reuse it across multiple platforms and partners.
