Textile PRO Forum strengthens cooperation on EPR harmonisation across Europe

22 June 2026 – The Textile PRO Forum reconvened in Brussels for another productive session dedicated to advancing the harmonisation of textile Extended Producer Responsibility across Europe.

Building on the momentum of previous meetings, the Forum continues to strengthen cooperation and knowledge-sharing among Producer Responsibility Organisations, national textile associations and EU stakeholders. The latest meeting brought together professionals representing 23 countries, with the Textile PRO Forum now counting 35 members.

Participants exchanged views on several key issues shaping the future implementation of textile EPR schemes, including digitalisation, targets, End-of-Waste criteria, traceability and the need for more harmonised approaches across the European Union.

The Forum also welcomed Vincenzo Gente, who provided valuable insights and clarifications on the implementation of the Waste Framework Directive and the broader regulatory landscape for textile circularity in Europe.

The meeting also marked the launch of the new EPR Action Map, a continuously updated tool designed to provide a clear overview of how textile EPR is being implemented across EU Member States. The map aims to improve transparency, support information exchange and help stakeholders navigate the evolving European EPR landscape.

As Europe moves towards mandatory separate collection of textile waste and the rollout of national EPR schemes, the Textile PRO Forum remains committed to fostering collaboration, reducing complexity and supporting the transition towards a more circular and competitive textile ecosystem in Europe.
