Some European textile districts rely on digital textile printing. Such technique may require a special pre-treatment of the fabric, which could increase nitrogen content in the waste water. This may result in increase of wastewater processing costs, environmental damage and could impede some wastewater treatment plants from being in compliance with regulations.
A new LIFE+ project aimed at investigating a specialized waste water treatment that is low-cost and sustainable, to address the issue of nitrogen pollution from certain types of digital textile printing.
