Traceability and DPP

The adoption of digital product passports was outlined in the EU’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) with a set of rules to ensure traceability in various sectors, including textiles. The tool aims to facilitate market surveillance authorities with product compliance verification and allow consumers to make informed decisions.

• Traceability to be based on proportionality, interopearability and open standards
• An enabling environment created with guidelines, a list of common standards.
• Enough transition times to collect and process the necessary data.
• Appropriate and harmonised measures to aid SMEs i.e. education, financial aid, tools.
